After completion of the exercise, we discovered that although
the four themes differentiated from one another in terms of their contextual
setting and brief, an overlap of some of the themes had been found. We
discovered that ideas of “enhanced technology” improved individual experience, and
contributed to an effective dissemination of various communications. In our
discussion one distinct point was discovered. As various types of communications
were made easier from one’s home, factors involving physical inactiveness became
a concerning issue. This in turn may negatively impact political aspects
relating to social interaction and health illnesses such as obesity. It became clear
that after completing this exercise marks a development to week 1’s reflection;
redesigning for the ever-new or the obsolete. This exercise questions ramifications
involving the investigation for the ever-new. Whether it is a positive
attribute to society or if it is really observed as a true necessity to our urban
world? After learning this, these questions will strongly influence upon decision-making
for my interpretation of a positive architectural proposition.
